Our electrical team is responsible for designing and documenting the electrical subsystems of our wave devices, involving generators, power electronics and control systems. We’re also specifying and developing the electrical export system that collects power from many devices in wave energy farms, to deliver the generated power to on-land grids in a reliable and cost-efficient way. The data communication hardware within each device and for offshore wave farms involving fibre-optics and wireless communication methods are also part of our responsibility. Workdays usually include design work in electrical CAD, calculations and power systems analysis, supplier contacts, safety analysis and tuning and testing of the power, control and communication systems. The team includes experts in generators, drives, power export systems and control hardware.

About CorPower Ocean
CorPower Ocean is a global leader in Wave Energy technology. The ocean forms one of the largest yet least explored renewable energy sources on earth. We bring a new class of high efficiency Wave Energy Converters (WECs) enabling robust and cost-effective harvesting of electricity from ocean waves. The design principle is inspired by the pumping principles of the human heart and offers five times more energy per ton of device compared to previously known technologies, allowing a large amount of energy to be harvested using a small and low-cost device. A unique transparent protection mode brings survivability in the toughest storm conditions. We are headquartered in Sweden with offices in Portugal, Scotland and Norway.
